Results come from the leagues' public results feeds and refresh through the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday mornings. If a score is still missing a day after the game, the club may not have reported it yet.
A statistical model rates every team from its results (with last season as a starting point), then plays out the rest of the season thousands of times. The chance of a playoff spot is the share of those seasons in which the team finishes in a qualifying place under the league's rules. It's an estimate and can be wrong, especially early in the season.
